Hanyang University (한양대) : Wangsimni / Seongdong-gu
Hanyang's main Seoul campus is in Seongdong-gu, with Wangsimni as the nearest major station — one of Seoul's best-connected transport hubs (Line 2, Line 5, Gyeongui-Jungang, Suin-Bundang). Students typically live in one of three nearby areas.

Chung-Ang University (중앙대) : Heukseok / Dongjak-gu
CAU's Seoul campus is in Dongjak-gu, near Heukseok Station (Line 9) and Noryangjin Station (Line 1 & Line 9). Quieter and more residential than most university areas on this list, and more affordable than western Seoul.

Sungkyunkwan University (성균관대) : Hyehwa & Beyond / Jongno-gu
SKKU has two campuses: the Humanities & Social Sciences campus (인문사회과학캠퍼스) in Myeongnyun-dong, Jongno-gu, served by Hyehwa Station (Line 4); and the Natural Sciences campus in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do. This section covers the Seoul campus only.
The housing reality near SKKU is different from most universities on this list. The area around Hyehwa and the campus is largely protected as a cultural heritage zone — high-rise development is restricted, which means the supply of modern studios and officetels near campus is very limited. The neighborhood is charming but not built for student housing at scale.
As a result, most SKKU students don't live right next to campus. Instead, they spread out along the Line 4 corridor — taking buses or the subway to Hyehwa and then the campus shuttle — or commute by bus from neighborhoods along the routes that serve campus directly.

SKKU's school-managed housing (학교 직영 원룸): SKKU operates a scheme where the university directly contracts with nearby private studio buildings and sublicenses them to students at below-market rates — around ₩310,000–₩380,000 per month paid as a 6-month lump sum. Availability is limited and allocated through the same application process as the official dorms. Worth checking when you enroll.

Ewha Womans University (이화여대) : Ewha Station / Seodaemun-gu
