How Much Does Yonsei University Cost?
Yonsei is one of Korea's most prestigious private universities, and both tuition and the surrounding Sinchon neighborhood reflect that. That said, it's a genuinely exceptional location — well-connected, vibrant, and close to some of the best student facilities in Seoul.
Yonsei University Korean Language Program (KLI)
The Korean Language Institute (KLI / 한국어학당) at Yonsei is arguably the most internationally recognized Korean language program in Korea. Together with Sogang's KLEC, it's consistently rated among the best for serious learners. The program runs four semesters a year, each 10 weeks long.

💡 The morning session fills up extremely fast — often on the first day of registration. If you want the morning course, pay your tuition within 3 days of receiving your acceptance. D-4 visa applicants must register for a minimum of 2 semesters.
Degree Programs (학부 / 대학원)
Undergraduate tuition at Yonsei starts from approximately ₩3,908,000 per semester for humanities, up to higher amounts for engineering and medicine. For exact current figures by department, visit https://www.yonsei.ac.kr/sc/288/subview.do or contact the International Office at intl@yonsei.ac.kr
As with most universities in Seoul, housing is often the bigger monthly variable once you're enrolled.
Yonsei University Dorms for International Students
KLI students have access to two on-campus dorm options, managed separately from the main Yonsei residential system. Both are within a 5-minute walk of the language institute.
⚠️ Dorm spots are extremely limited. The total number of available rooms covers only about 10% of all KLI students each semester — and applications typically close on the first day they open. Most students end up living off campus.
