Kyung Hee University Global Campus Housing: A Complete Guide for Foreign Students.
Kyung Hee University has two campuses. Most guides focus on the Seoul campus near Hoegi Station — but a significant number of KHU students, including many international students, study at the Global Campus (국제캠퍼스) in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do.
This guide covers housing, dormitories, and what to expect from living near the Global Campus.

Seoul ↔ Global Campus Shuttle (설국버스)
KHU operates an inter-campus shuttle between the Seoul campus and the Global Campus, nicknamed the "설국버스." It runs during the semester (weekdays only) and costs ₩2,000 per ride. Students who need to travel between campuses regularly use this — but it can be slow during peak hours and delays are common.
The Global Campus is a large, self-contained campus in a suburban area — very different from the urban campus-town feel of Seoul's university districts. Most amenities are either on campus or a short bus ride away.
Kyung Hee University Global Campus Dormitory
KHU's language institute (ILE / 국제교육원) at the Global Campus offers two housing options for Korean language program students.
Option 1 — Woojungwon Dormitory (우정원, On-Campus)
The main on-campus dormitory. A 7-story building with basement facilities including a large cafeteria (약 12,000m²), bank, bookstore, pharmacy, flower shop, opticians, computer store, and food court — all inside the building.
| Room type | Period | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Double room (2인실) | Spring semester (16 weeks) | ₩1,240,000 |
| Double room (2인실) | Fall semester (16 weeks) | ₩1,240,000 |
- Each room has private bathroom, in-room air conditioning, desk, wardrobe, and bed
- International Student Kitchen: available for ₩30,000/semester (cooking not permitted in rooms)
- Check-in and check-out dates are fixed — early entry not possible
- Must check out during undergraduate vacation periods even mid-language-semester

💡 The Woojungwon check-out during undergraduate vacation is the main inconvenience — if your language semester overlaps with KHU's undergraduate vacation, you may need to temporarily vacate and find alternative accommodation. Confirm the exact dates with the ILE office before applying.
Option 2 — Neoville (네오빌, Off-Campus Partner Housing)
Located directly across from the Global Campus main gate. Neoville is not on campus but is recommended by the ILE as a partner housing facility. Private rooms with private bathroom, air conditioning, communal kitchen, large lounge area. Rice and kimchi included.
| Room type | Period | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Single room (1인실) | 3 months | ₩1,200,000 |
| Single room (1인실) | 6 months | ₩2,400,000 |
| Single room (1인실) | 12 months | ₩4,800,000 |
- Deposit: ₩200,000 (separate)
- Monthly maintenance fee: ₩30,000 (separate)
- No semester restrictions — check-in and check-out flexible
- Lease agreement required upon moving in
- Summer/Winter semester applicants: single room only
💡 Neoville is the more flexible option if your stay doesn't align with the Woojungwon semester schedule. The 3-month option (₩1,200,000) works out to ₩400,000/month — competitive for a private room near campus.
How to Apply
Apply for Woojungwon through the ILE office after receiving your admission letter. For Neoville, contact the ILE directly — applications are processed through the ILE, not independently.

Kyung Hee University Global Campus Off-Campus Housing
Students who don't secure dorm accommodation typically live in the area around the campus in Giheung-gu, Yongin or the adjacent areas.
What to Expect
The Global Campus area has a much more suburban character than Seoul's university districts. There's no equivalent of Sinchon or Anam — a dense, walkable student commercial strip right next to campus. Instead, housing is scattered across a broader area, with most amenities reachable by bus or on foot via the campus zone itself.
| Area | Room type | Monthly rent (approx.) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Near Global Campus main gate | One-room / Studio | ₩400,000 – ₩650,000 | Closest, limited stock |
| Giheung-gu residential areas | One-room / Villa | ₩350,000 – ₩550,000 | More options, short bus ride |
※ Deposit typically ₩3–10 mil. 2025 market estimates.
- Large, well-equipped campus — most daily needs covered on campus
- Quieter and greener than Seoul university districts
- Neoville and on-campus facilities reduce pressure to find off-campus housing
- Bus connections to Suwon Station and Sinbundang Line for Seoul access
- Seoul commute is 60–80 minutes — factor this into weekend plans
- Off-campus housing stock near the campus is more limited than Seoul areas
- Fewer international-friendly services than Seoul student districts
